Position: Chief Executive Officer

Doug Jacquier has been Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Connecting Up since 2000. He has led CUA through instigating the annual Connecting Up conference series on nonprofit technology in 2004 and the Australian Community Technology Awards in 2007.

In 2006, Doug negotiated a partnership with TechSoup Global to establish the DonorTec technology donation program in Australia and later established TechSoup New Zealand.

In the Equity Trustees Australian Not-For-Profit CEO Awards, Doug was awarded Innovator of the Year in 2008. His achievements and strategic networking have led to him being invited to address conferences in the US, UK, New Zealand and South Africa.

Prior to joining Connecting up, Doug had a management career in the community services sector in Victoria and South Australia, ran the combined SA universities’ general staff training enterprise and was the owner of successful consultancy business based in Broome, WA. Doug has also formerly been Vice-Chair of the IT Council for SA, and a Board member of the SA Council of Social Service. He is a Fellow and former national Board Member of the Australian Society of Association Executives (AuSAE), is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), and he has professional qualifications in social work, management and business planning.

On a personal note, although a passionate South Australian since moving to Adelaide in 1985, Doug remains a stubborn believer that his beloved Melbourne Demons will deliver another AFL premiership in his lifetime. He enjoys books, movies, travel, good food, great red wines and good company to share them.
