The Trans-Help Foundation is “committed to providing support and assistance to Operators, Drivers and their Families connected with the Transport Industry who are suffering any form of crisis.“ They offer a number of services including a call centre, Mobile Health and Support Unit, workshops, networks, online resources and more.
Since 2006, their call centre has taken over 7100 calls and their Mobile Health and Support Unit that has been in operation since 2008 has been in contact with nearly 9,000 people.
For a small team, the impact is huge.
Many of the cases they deal with involve road trauma, loss and injury, depression and near death. Their client stories tell of how they’ve been helping drivers and their families to live better lives and overcome difficulties.
When supporting people around the country, technology can be the glue that helps to bring the operation together. Dianne Carroll of Trans-Help Foundation explains, “Technology is an important part of our National Foundation. Our Directors are throughout Australia, so we have online conferencing, we also provide a 24/7 support service, with a lot of it implemented online.”
Through DonorTec, the Trans-Help foundation has accessed a number of donated products including:
These have been used to benefit their community in a number of different ways including developing resources and events. Dianne goes on to say, “Our resources have been designed and printed in house and the programs offered have enabled us to do that. The products have also assisted us in designing and presenting workshops and training.”
“Without the affordable resources offered through DonorTec we would never have been able to achieve many of our goals”
Dianne says of Connecting Up’s DonorTec program, “The DonorTec program is a must for the growth of any not-for-profit organisations, since becoming a member I have seen the expanse of products on offer and it just keeps getting better.”
