Simon Gee is the Chief Operating Officer at Connecting Up. He has overall responsibility in leading the effective coordination of CU’s operational programs and developing new ventures for the organisation.
Since joining Connecting Up in 2006, Simon has held a variety of roles including conference organiser for Connecting Up's annual conference (Australia's largest technology focused nonprofit conference), he was the manager of the DonorTec program for many years a program that facilities technology donations from the likes of Microsoft and Cisco to eligible nonprofit organisations. These roles have enabled Simon to become well versed in the challenges and opportunities faced by nonprofit organisations when it comes to the effective use of technology for social good.
Before joining Connecting Up, Simon worked as a Project Manager with EDS and other IT companies. He has extensive experience in the IT industry, especially in web based systems and technology project management.
He is currently undertaking an MBA at the University of South Australia. Simon is a keen sportsman and sports lover, especially basketball. He is also a passionate Port Power supporter in the AFL, which underlines his natural sympathy for the underdog.
