CARE Australia explains their organisation on their website as such: "CARE is an international humanitarian aid organisation fighting global poverty, with a special focus on working with women and girls to bring about lasting change in their communities. We are non-religious and non-political Australian charity, working together with communities to provide emergency relief and address the underlying causes of poverty. We believe supporting women and girls is one of the most effective ways to create sustainable outcomes in poor communities."

How did CARE Australia benefit from DonorTec?

With over 1700 staff managing over programmes in 20 countries, CARE relies on the Australian public to continue their work. Through DonorTec's technology donations programme, they managed to save over $60,000 that enabled them to use the money for their work.

What technology donation did CARE Australia avail of?

CARE received Microsoft Office Communications Server External Connector License (Enterprise) and Microsoft Office Sharepoint Server (Enterprise). Such technology enabled their staff to log on to Microsoft Office applications via web access. And, it enables members of the organisation to collaborate with each other, allowing them to view, comment, and provide input on various documents from different locations.

"The money saved on software is significant and we’re very grateful and thankful to Microsoft for the software we have received," says Ray Brown, IT Manager for CARE Australia. "Having more money available to us means we can greatly expand our online presence and our marketing. This means more exposure and more exposure means more donations."
