Hello 2011

Happy new year, everyone! Yes, the whole team is now back in action after the holidays. And, we welcome 2011 with exciting news.

First of all, we're pleased to share with you that Connecting Up Australia is one of the nonprofit organisations that received funding from Google Inc's Charitable Giving Fund. The US$100,000 grant that has been given is to help grow the Australian nonprofits' national directory project.

Our team has already been hard at work on the directory during the last few months. This project aims to provide a valuable resource to anyone who wishes to connect with the nonprofit sector on a nationwide basis. We're hoping to launch a beta version of the directory this year.

Other grant recipients include APC.org, ASHOKA, the Bharti Foundation, Global Strategies for HIV Prevention, LASA, NatureBridge, NPTech, NTEN, and UNICEF.

You can read more about this story at AdelaideNow, SmartOffice, In-Business SA, Innovate SA, and/or Newsmaker.

Another thing we'd like to share is that we've added a new partner in our technology donations and discounts programme. Our newest donor partner is SAP, which offers a range of report design software that can connect to a number of data sources. To find out if your nonprofit organisation is eligible for these available SAP products, you can check out SAP's eligibility requirements on our site.

So, here's to another amazing year for the sector... Have a great 2011!
