Next week is National Cyber Security Awareness Week and we're doing what we can to help not-for-profits be safer online.

The Australian Governement’s Stay Smart Online initiative is a great source on information for cyber security for personal and business purposes. Each year, Stay Smart Online runs their National Cyber Security Awareness Week with hundreds of supporters including Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Symantec, Sophos and more.
For not-for-profits finding it increasingly important to be online and using computers, it’s just as important to make sure your information is kept safe.
We recently looked at Internet security company, Symantec’s latest Threat Report which stated a rise in 36% of web based attacks between 2010 and 2011. This equated to 4,500 new attacks each day. It may be time to give your organisation’s IT a security audit and see what you need to fix.
During National Cyber Security Awareness Week, there are a series of official events being held around the county. You can see what’s happening on the events calendar on the Stay Smart Online website.
Next week, we will be hosting Tony Stratton from DonorTec partner, Kaspersky to talk about the basics of cyber-security including what it is, what you need and how to find a solution that best suits your organisation.
To join the webinar, follow the links on the webinar page in our Events section.

We’ll also be running our #npau tweetchat to coincide with the webinar to extend the discussion and notes. To participate:
