Connecting Up 2011 speaker, Dr. Teresa Williams works closely with families who are living with vision impairment. The VI family network has been created by the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children to provide an online parent forum and social networking website to enable parents and carers of children living with vision impairment to interact and support one another in a secure online environment.

Linda Woodrow manages Training, Resources, and web and extranet content for the Community Technology Centres Association. They run a great range of services to local communities in rural and remote NSW. Looking at the images on the CTCA website, it's clear that they have a great impact, especially with educating older generations on new technology.

Donna Hanson is known as the 'Technology Translator' as she has the ability to take "techno babble" and turn it into easy to understand language. You may have seen her on Channel 7's Sunrise or Today Tonight on Channel 9 addressing tech issues. She also runs her own company, Prime Solutions & Training which provides computer and productivity training across various sectors.

It's an exciting time for us here in the Connecting Up offices - and not just because of the Easter long weekend! The Connecting Up 2011: Reboot Your Nonprofit is just around the corner, and we're looking forward to seeing everyone there! Connecting Up 2011: Reboot your Nonprofit is all about helping Australian nonprofits use technology better. We have some great speakers coming along, addressing topics which are very relevant to the modern nonprofit. Hot topics such as cloud computing, social media, community building and new fundraising opportunities will be discussed. A handful of the Connecting Up Australia team had the pleasure of meeting and hearing from Tom Dawkins, co-founder of crowdfunding website, Start Some Good. Tom has been visiting Australian cities (thanks to TACSI and The School for Social Entrepreneurs) over the past week. He visited the Vibwire Enterprise Hub in Sydney, The Hub in Melbourne, and finished up his speaking mini-tour in Adelaide in front of a small, intimate audience.
