What's Your Facebook Page Strategy?

There are many nonprofit organisations that have set-up their own Facebook pages to connect with their communities and stakeholders. Many have found it to be a great communication tool. In fact, one of our programs, DonorTec, has had a Facebook page for a while now.

One of Connecting Up's projects is the DonorTec technology donations programme. The programme is available to different qualified nonprofit organisations in Australia (we also run TechSoup New Zealand, which does the same thing).

Top 10 Technology and Social Media Resources for Nonprofits This Week

Everyday, we find great resources on the different uses of technology and social media in the nonprofit sector. We bookmark them, note them, share them, Tweet or re-Tweet them, and sometimes, we even blog about them. So, in this post, we thought we'll round up some of the most interesting resources that we think you might also find useful for you and your organisation.

Google Premium Apps and Nonprofits

Alan Noble; Engineering Director Google Australia and New Zealand did a terrific presentation at Connecting Up 09 Conference this year. See more or listen to the audio here.

If you listen to Question and Answer 3 where a conference participant asked : " Only US not-for-profits are entitled to the education version of Google Apps as opposed to the Premier. Do you know if that is going to be rolled out globally outside the US for other not-for-profits?"

Alan said that he would check on this and get back to Connecting UpĀ  via Doug Jacquier our CEO about this so that we could let you all know. We have had a few enquiries about this. Whilst there is no timeline, Alan has just let us know that : " Google is revisiting non-profits' eligibility for Premium Apps globally and Australia is included in this - so watch this space - more coming soon!"

So we'll let you know more when we know more.
