Connecting Up 2012 Coming Soon

Session: A Practical Approach to Location Intelligence in Government - Improving Service Delivery from Behind the Counter.

For many years spatial information (i.e. maps) in Government has been locked away in secure systems, only able to be accessed by highly skilled geospatial professionals.

The South Australian Department for Families and Communities (DFC) is rapidly changing the landscape of accessing spatial information, business data and the rich toolsets of geospatial data. As a result, staff behind the counter are now more than ever empowered to gather evidence and take ownership of the process. Location intelligence tools are unlocking this information, creating an empowered workforce and transforming the way information is communicated to the citizen.

Speaker Bio: In 2008 he was recognised as South Australian Spatial Professional of the Year and in the same year he and his team were recognised for “Innovation” at the DFC Australia Day Awards. Currently he is a Fellow of the Leadership Institute of South Australia (Fellow FGLF) and a Certified GIS professional in Asia Pacific (GISP-AP).
