Connecting Up 2012 Coming Soon

Technology Leadership for the (Sustainable) Win

Holly Ross, NTEN and Simon Gee and Shai Coggins, Connecting Up Australia

Technology used to be that collection of boxes and switches at the back of your office that kept your email and your printer working. Now, technology is all around us, and connecting us both within and across organizations.

From the communications team to the fundraising staff, to the volunteer coordinators, technology is an integral part of how we do our work. That's why it's more important than ever that nonprofit leaders and staff understand what technology can do for their organisations and build the capacity to make smart technology decisions that age well and enable maximum focus on mission.

In this workshop, we'll uncover the connection between technology and meeting your mission, and help you discover how to ask the right questions and make the right technology decisions for your organisation.

We'll spend the second half of the day focused on how to implement technology projects successfully, particularly when it comes to convincing your staff to come along for the ride.

The workshop is designed to help participants:

  • Understand the relationship between strategy and technology
  • Explore a collaborative framework for technology planning and decision-making
  • Discuss keys to successful technology implementations and sustainable technology impact
  • Learn how to save money and time with process-driven approaches to technology projects
  • Consider how to implement technology organically and openly in a staff-driven model

The agenda will be extremely interactive and participant-driven, with session formats designed to focus on the real-world needs and interests of participants. Bring your questions, bring your quandaries, share your best practices and learn what others are up to regarding all of the above. And we'll try to keep it fun along the way.

The workshop facilitators are delighted to take questions and consider topic requests and suggestions in advance of the event.
