Access the mp3 files for each of the presentations from keynote speakers in the Endeavour Ballroom at the Novotel Brighton Sydney.
Tuesday May 12

Keynote presentation - Alan Noble, Engingeering Director, Google Australia and New Zealand. Alan's keynote presentation provides an overview of Google and what it delivers - and covers information about Google Apps and Google ads.
Question and Answer time with Alan Noble.
Response to Question One - Do you have any comments on the integration of cloud computing particularly Googles Apps with other cloud computing technologies such as SalesForce. Also wondered whether you knew of any nonprofits in Australia who have moved totally to the cloud as they have done in the UK and US.
Response to Question Two - Is it feasible to put high resolution video data up on a cloud?
Response to Question Three - This two part question was asked by the same delegate at the conference.
Do you see Google Apps developing some sort of CRM application or is it always going to be a third part api thing?
Only US not-for-profits are entitled to the education version of Google Apps as opposed to the Premier. Do you know if that is going to be rolled out globally outside the US for other not-for-profits?
Response to Question Four - We're moving more and more to the cloud and network applications but nobody speaks about the fact that in Australia bandwidth is charged on volume. How do you see your business model working in an environment where charges are high for bandwidth?
Response to Question Five - Following on from question four a delegate askes. What is the real cost of the cloud?
Roundtable Discussion - a discussion to include all of the delegates at the conference.
Mark Pesce, the overall facilitator for the Roundtable Discussion, provided an overview of the roundtable discussion process, a framework to assist participants to think about the issues for each group discussion and introduced the facilitators for each group.
Each of the seven strands of the conference was a focus for the discussions. This includes:
- Social Action
- Service Delivery
- Supporter relations and Fundraising
- Networking and Community Building
- Social Entrepreneurship
- Technology Solutions
- Governance
After the group discussion the groups came back together and each group facilitator provided an overview of each group discussion. Mark Pesce facilitated this discussion and posed further questions to the participants to further clarify issues and challenges.
The Roundtable Discussion presentations and following conversations can be accessed here.
Keynote presentation - Monique Potts, Digital Media Project Manager and Producer at the Australian Broadcasting Commission (ABC)

- trends in Australian online audiences
- uptake of social media
- increasing uptake by older audiences of social media
- growth in accessing user generated content
- growth in reading blogs and wikis.
Question and Answer time with Monique Potts.
Response to Question One - This was praise for the ABC rather than a question for Monique - thanking the ABC for the iView platform for consumers to be able to engage with content when and where they wanted to.
Response to Question Two - Would the ABC be able to host a town square for every town in Australia as part of its commitment to supporting Australian communities.
Response to Question Three - How do you (The ABC) ensure the voices of many rather than just the same few get heard?
Response to Question Four - Do you see any sort of University course or units being developed or leadership by Universities to teach students about best practice and legal implications in social media.
