Power of Videoblogging Workshop
The Power of Videoblogging
Many people are finding that using video blogs to express their ideas, explain a solution to a problem, or to teach a skill is much easier and faster than writing about it.
Jay Dedman and Ryanne Hodson provided participants at the fullday workshop with the opportunity to hear and learn about how to use free tools to create and publish powerful videos. They provided participants with:
- stories of how to get press coverage, create action and raise money
- information about how other have used web video to help them to create interest and awareness
- ideas about when its best to hire a video team and when you can do the video yourself
- information on how to craft a workflow to fit video into your already busy schedule
- ideas on how to maximise the effectiveness of your video.
You can access the slides from their presentation at slideshare. The slides from the presentation are a rich resource of examples of video campaigns used for fundraising and awareness raising. You will also find software and hardware information to assist you with making decisions about what you might need to get you started.
At Jay and Ryannes Freevlog website you can access a range of short videos to help you start to create your own videoblog. The materials are broken up into three sections:
- Telling stories
- Making Videos
- Publishing videos
They have tried to keep it as easy as possible. If you are totally new to videoblogging then you probably want to start by going to the Learning section and watch the tutorials.
