The Association of Neighbourhood Houses and Learning Centres asked us on Twitter: "Is it poss to hide personal profile set up on FB to administer org page so people can only engage with page?"
Yes, it is possible!!
When you're logged in to your Facebook account and you visit your organisation's page, you can see a section on the right sidebar where Admins are given the option to "Use Facebook as [Organisation Name/Page] (see screen capture below). Just click on that option every time you wish to interact as your Facebook/Organisation page. You can switch back to your personal account in the same way.
We hope this helps!

Persons and pages
Hi Shai,
Thanks for your response but this isn't quite what I was after. I heard a rumour you could set up a personal (work) profile on Facebook in order to adminster an organisation's page, but then hide your personal profile so people only engage with the page.
At present, although I 'use Facebook as page', people can still send friend requests to my admin profile, write on my wall and direct message me. I only want to engage through the organisational page. Is this possible?
Thanks,
Angela (aka Neighbourhood Houses and Learning Centres Victoria)
Crash course in Facebook Profile Privacy
Hi Angela,
Hopefully this blog post helps: http://www.connectingup.org/blog/crash-course-locking-down-your-facebook-profile
Basically, you'll be able to stop the majority of new people finding the personal profile. If they do, you can stop them from posting on your profile - in fact you could put a link to your page as the last thing on your page so that's what they see first.
Let me know if it helps :)

Facebook Q Update
Thanks, Angela!
Must be my sleep-deprived brain misinterpreting your question! Thankfully, Ben created a full blog post that shares a tutorial on a possible solution to the issue that you're facing.
Basically, the general idea is to limit access to your organisation's personal account, so that a) it doesn't easily show up in Facebook search, b) limit the way people can add/interact with that account; and c) make a note/status to let people know that it's best to go to your official Facebook page (with a link to it) as your only "Public" post available.
Thanks for your follow-up and we hope it solves the issue.
