During the CU11 conference, one of the things that was raised by the delegates is the chance is to find ways we can continue the conversations even after the conference.
Some of the ways that a number of conference delegates are continuing to talk is through social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook, as well as through the new Connecting Up groups here on this site.
One of the ideas that got floated around is getting involved in a live TweetChat on a regular basis. That is, a "live online chat event" using Twitter as a platform. And, we're looking at launching this on the first week of August 2011.
We will be using the hash tag #npau to carry on the conversations that interest Australian nonprofits.
However, we need your input on how we can better utilise this initiative. So, please share some of your thoughts about the our upcoming Tweet Chats.
Some points for discussion:
- What's a good day and time for you to join a TweetChat?
- Will you be able to take some time during the office hours to join one, or should they be held outside office hours?
- How often would you be able to participate in TweetChats? Once a week? Fortnightly? Monthly?
- What's an ideal time limit per TweetChat - 30 minutes or an hour?
- What topics would you be interested in?
- Any other thoughts you might wish to share about a Nonprofit TweetChat?
Oh, and if you have a Twitter account, please let us know too. :-)
Looking forward to TweetChatting with you!

I think this would be really useful, thanks for following this up from the Conference :)
Office hours or outside office hours would be OK, but I guess it would be better within office hours to engage more people? Just guessing on that one...' cause I know we're also all flat out during the day.
Once a fortnight for 30 minutes sounds good to me, regular enough to remember but not too time consuming.
I'd be interested in the sharing of experiences, resources, good practice, what works well and/or not so well.
Because we're a nonprofit that provides ICT services to other nonprofits, would also be really interested in hearing about barriers, difficulties, needs, etc.
Thanks for your input,
Thanks for your input, Silvia! Really helpful.
Glad to see some enthusiasm about the #npau TweetChat. There were a handful of folks on Twitter who mentioned that they'd love to take part too. So, hopefully, we can get this going.
We'll organise the first TweetChat soon, and I imagine that we'll tweak things as we go along, depending on how people feel about things moving forward. Most likely, we'll do something short within office hours, and see how it goes.
Great to know some of your topics of interest too. I'm sure we'll build on that, plus other folks' suggestions.
Again, thanks so much. Really looking forward to our TweetChats. :-)
