This workshop is focused on helping nonprofit leaders/managers understand the elements of creating a useful technology plan and budget to help you make the most of the time that you devote to thinking about technology. We’ll discuss strategies for creating appropriate technology solutions that also have the potential to reduce costs and increase organisational capacity. We'll cover the essentials for IT, data management, planning, budgeting, and online presence. We'll finish by reviewing an example of a technology plan that you can use to guide your planning.
This session is appropriate for nonprofit leaders with any level of tech comfort.

About the speaker
John Kenyon is a nonprofit technology educator and strategist who has worked exclusively with nonprofits for over 20 years providing advice, teaching seminars, and writing articles. Every day he educates nonprofits about using technology strategically because he knows it can help their organisations operate more effectively and efficiently. In 2007 John was a keynote speaker at the Connecting Up Conference and engaged with Australian nonprofits around technology planning through workshops in Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney. John authored the chapter “Effective Online Communications” in the book Managing Technology to Meet your Mission (Jossey-Bass/Wiley, 2009). He is an adjunct professor at the University of San Francisco and has been a featured speaker across the US, England, Australia, and online.
