The Western Australia government has made funding available to businesses and nonprofits who are interested in investing in new technologies and embracing e-commerce.
State minister for science and innovation John Day made an announcement on Monday (August 13), encouraging organisations to apply for a grant.
Eligible companies and nonprofits need to be able to show that they have programs to get their members online and involved in the digital economy.
Initiatives could receive up to $50,000 per project, depending on the funding available.
Mr Day said that investing in new technologies is great for the state's economy, and that it is the way of the future.
"Trends are dictating that the future for business will involve significant time online and/or embracing new technologies," he said in a statement.
"New technologies and processes are being discovered every day and the aim of this program is to encourage more WA businesses to become aware of these developments and take advantage of the benefits they offer to grow their business."
Since the funding is also open to nonprofits, it could be a great time for organisations in the area to take advantage of the opportunity to introduce some digital initiatives.
