Social Networking and leading edge technologies – how are you and your organisation placed to run with these opportunities?

The recent US election of Barak Obama has been a powerful demonstration of how effective social web tools are in both Fundraising and Social Action!

See Doug’s Blog for more on this. Join or Listen to the pre-conference discussion via the blog www.connectingup.org/blogDoug Just subscribe to the RSS feed  by clicking here  Connecting Up feed

As Doug Jacquier; CEO Connecting Up Australia said at last year’s conference  about the power of RSS feeds, “You will no longer need to find the information, it will come to you.”

Many nonprofits are utilising social networking technologies to engage their supporters and members and in some cases to reach their clients.

At Connecting Up you will hear about how they are doing it and why it can be so effective. Some great international speakers will bring you stories from the field and show you how to do it – see info below

Speaker Line Up!
We are very excited and fortunate to have some great guest speakers venturing across the globe to come and liaise with us “down under”. We also have some wonderful home grown speakers to make this year a terrific coming together of minds!

See their info at : www.connectingup.org/speakers

We will also bring you more terrific local case studies from our community sector to dig deeper into the issues of using technology to build capacity and building capacity to utilise technology!
We will build in some workshops to allow you to be “hands on” and “have a go” with some technologies.

One of the take away pointers from this year’s conference was that technology is the tool or medium which provides powerful ways for us to market better, to fundraise better, to manage better, to communicate better, to engage membership better, to research better, to measure better, to deliver services, to save time, to save dollars, etc………so we aim to bring you examples of how it is being done to give you some take away ideas for your organisations!

If you have some burning issues / topics please send us an email CU09@connectingup.com.au or comment on Doug’s blog at www.connectingup.org/blogDoug
Who should come?

This conference provides something for forward thinking community organisation, charity and nonprofit staff at all levels, from Directors and CEO’s to Marketing Managers and Program staff. It’s definitely not a geek-fest! It’s for those who want to learn enough about ICT to influence strategic directions and how technology is used in your organisation.

Many businesses are also finding the conference very valuable as the information presented is relevant to business marketing strategies and gives very practical knowledge about where to start and what these applications can do. It is also a great opportunity to meet and network with a sector which is taking up these ideas rapidly.

This will not only be demonstrated but we will be supporting you to learn about and access this sort of strategy for your organisation or community group.
