Sue Vardon AO

Chair

Sue spent 23 years as a Chief Executive in Commonwealth and State Government Agencies.
She has an Honorary Doctorate from the University of South Australia; has been an Adjunct Professor at both Canberra University and the University of South Australia; and was the Inaugural Telstra Business Woman of the Year in 1995.

Jane Brabham

Deputy Chairperson

Jane is the Managing Director of two business and technology companies, Brabham Group and BrabhamForce.
She has been involved in the Information Technology industry for more than 20 years, with a strong focus on bringing people, business and technology together.
She founded Brabham after working for both international and local IT consulting firms and seeing a ‘gap’ in the alignment of technology and business.

Andrew Culley

Treasurer

Andrew is the Treasurer at Connecting Up. His role consists of liaising with the CEO on financial matters and assisting with the preparation of the annual report.
He is Managing Partner at Deloitte, responsible for building brand eminence in South Australia and supporting the Deloitte team to deliver on client expectations.
He has over 15 years’ experience as a Management Consultant following a career in the manufacturing and industrial sectors, and his portfolio of clients has included private businesses through to large corporations and government entities. 

James Austin

Board member

James is an accountant who has worked in the not-for-profit/charity sector for more than 30 years.
He has been a political organiser and activist, a professional lobbyist, an educationist and a professional charity fundraiser.
A past CEO of several industry associations, including the Fundraising Institute of New Zealand, he is currently the Fundraising Manager for the New Zealand National Party.
As a committed Rotarian, James has little spare time, but when he does, he spends it with his family, cooking, watching rugby, reading history and eating out.

Jon Bisset

Board Member

Jon is CEO of the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA).
He has more than 20 years’ experience as a Chief Executive and non-executive Director, including with some of Australia’s finest non-profit organisations covering professional services, health and ageing, business events, sport, media, technology, fundraising and association management.

Kym Hume

Board Member

Kym is an experienced senior Business Development professional at the Australian Institute of Company Directors, of which he is also a Fellow. 
He has been Senior Manager of Business Development at the RAA, having previously spent over 25 years at Telstra as a National Director of Technical Sales and General Manager Sales SA/WA/NT.
Kym has a particular focus on the Enterprise and Government sectors. 

Lisa Harvey

Board Member

Lisa is an entrepreneur, writer, strategist, speaker, futurist and innovator who currently works as a Digital Mission Specialist at Flightlab.
She has worked in the technology industry for more than 35 years.
Lisa was CEO of Energetica for more than 16 years, providing websites and online systems for not-for-profits and for government.

 

Sue McIvor

Board Member

Sue is CEO at Fernlea Inc, an independent, community-based organisation providing respite services for carers of people diagnosed with life-limiting or life-threatening illness and dementia.
She was CEO of the Australian Breastfeeding Association for seven years, and holds tertiary qualifications in Business Management and Governance.
Sue has spent more than 15 years managing not-for profit organisations at both state and national levels.

Susan Arthure

Board Member

Susan has more than 25 years' leadership experience in information management, which includes developing the information architecture for major state government internet and intranet sites, and the strategic implementation and management of websites. 
She is currently a PhD researcher in Archaeology at Flinders University and has a special interest in early Irish settlements in South Australia. 

Aron Hausler

Aron Hausler is the Deputy Director Operations of the New Venture Institute (NVI) at Flinders University. NVI is reinventing the way the University creates impact through innovation, entrepreneurship and partnerships.
He has helped hundreds of small, medium and large organisations to apply strategic thinking, new ideas and new technologies to traditional business problems.
