Having recently established the organisation from the ground up Lynda Little, Manager of The Place says they have been very fortunate in accessing generous donations of software through DonorTec partner Calxa. The software is Calxa Premier and it’s designed for nonprofit organisations that require budgeting and cash-flow forecasting tools and the flexibility of creating budgets at departmental and project level. Calxa Premier makes it easy to create professional, active reports as well as charts and graphs that are simple to understand.

“I use Calxa Premier every day. We are operating our first budget and with it I am able to build scenario and actual budgets, essential for our growth and development” says Lynda, “It is very reassuring to have something which helps me keep an eye on our very scary budget. It is just brilliant in allowing us to forecast and manage our budget. I practically live and breathe by it.”

The Place offers a broad range of range of opportunities in the centre – the hub of which is the computer room – where seniors and work experience participants learn to use computers, TAFE run outreach programs and vocational courses, social media courses are offered for commercial operators as well as art classes in digital animation, just to name a few. Lynda says “Thanks to the donations made by Microsoft and Symantec the computer room actually exists. It wouldn’t be there without their generous donations we would only have the bare essentials just for permanent staff.”

Lynda says that thanks to Microsoft the computer room offers up to date software and thanks to Symantec the integrity of the data coming through is protected.  “For these big corporations to deliver in such a meaningful and practical way really is of immense benefit to our community."
