Social Traders provides Australia’s only social enterprise certification. To qualify for certification, an organisation must:
- Have a defined primary social, cultural, or environmental purpose consistent with a public or community benefit
- Derive a substantial portion of their income from trade
- Invest efforts and resources into their defined purpose to the degree that public/community benefit outweighs the private benefit
As a not-for-profit organisation and social enterprise, Connecting Up invests the majority of the profits from its trading activities in initiatives that assist people in need (such as Ask Izzy) and charities that support them (e.g. the Digital Transformation Hub).
