A new year brings a new round of charity events, with 2013 expected to be a big 12 months for the not-for-profit sector.
Here is a rundown of some up and coming events and conferences that may be worth attending.
Measuring Social Outcomes - Feb 13-14
Presented by the Centre for Social Impact, the Measuring Social Outcomes conference is being held at the Bayview Boulevard in Sydney on February 13 and 14.
Speakers at the conference will attempt to explore answers to the question, 'How do you know you're making a difference'?
They will look at effective measurement and reporting strategies and of ways to help enhance accountability in the sector.
Speakers include chief executive for the Centre of Social Impact Andrew Young, head of community development and finance at National Australia Bank Corinne Proske and director of service impact at Mission Australia, Eleri Morgan-Thomas.
Measuring Service Delivery - Feb 18-19
How can effective service delivery be measured? How can organisations become more accountable for the work that they do? How can public sector agencies show the value of their work?
These are just some of the questions that will arise at the Measuring Service Delivery conference, to be held in Canberra on February 18 and 19.
This conference looks to touch on themes similar to the Measuring Social Outcomes event, suggesting that 2013 will be a year of further consolidating accountability strategies in the not-for-profit and public sectors.
CPA's Not-for-profit Conference 2013 - March
The CPA Not-for-profit Conference 2013 will be held in four cities around Australia during March, hitting Sydney first, followed by Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane.
One of the main topics of this conference will be compliance with the newly launched Australian Charities and Not-for-profit Commission (ACNC).
Speakers from the ACNC will be on hand to further explain the recent reforms and help charity organisations understand their obligations.

Connecting Up Conference 2013 - May 15-17
May will be here before we know it, and so will the Connecting Up Conference for 2013!
Held in Surfer's Paradise, the 2013 event has the theme of 'Navigating not-for-profits in the new world', referring to the world of technology, social media and digital marketing for not-for-profits.
Keynote speakers include freelance journalist and author Brad Howarth, writer of Beth's Blog: Nonprofits and Social Media Beth Kanter from the USA and NTEN's educational program manager John Kenyon.
