Webinar: How to recruit for cultural fit

The problem with Recruitment…

We are all too aware of the direct costs of a ‘bad’ recruitment decision. After all, it is likely to be the biggest capital expense that you are delegated to authorise. Getting this wrong can severely affect your leadership brand, not to mention any ongoing indirect costs of the fallout. Can you or your organisation afford to get it wrong…again?

A series of negative appointments is usually an indication that your current recruitment practices lack the robustness that is needed. It may be time to sit back and critically assess the effectiveness and efficiencies of the systems and processes that are in place.

The problem with Recruitment processes…

Recruiting and interviewing can seem like a simple process. Just follow the bouncing ball - one step after the other - and you’ll identify the best candidate for the job. The reality however, is quite different. Finding the right candidate for the job is actually about what happens between the steps. For example, do you know who and what you need but:

  • Struggle to put it into words
  • Unsure of the questions to ask
  • Don't have the resources or the skills to recruit internally, or
  • Don't have the funds to contract a high priced recruitment consultant?

The reasons why people leave in the first place…

There’s a saying, “Employees don’t quit their jobs, they quit their bosses”! On the flip side, there’s also a saying, “We hire them for their skill and then we fire them because of their behaviour!”. There is a lot of talk in the market place about recruiting for cultural fit, however there is not much chatter about how to specifically do this.

So…what about our culture?

This session is about unveiling these issues and having a look at what lies beneath…and it may not be pretty. Being able to identify the best and the worst of your culture and making that explicit in our understanding of who will fit in and who won’t is a key “between the steps” insight that is necessary for successful selection AND on boarding practices.

Join Andrea in this session as she unravels:

  • Key mistakes people make when recruiting and how to avoid them
  • How to use behavioural interviewing techniques to uncover the ‘real person’ that will fit your culture
  • How to integrate top tips for reference checking and on boarding
  • What to look for when choosing formal assessment tools to ascertain cultural fit

PRICE: $25 ($20 for Premium Members)
