The problem with Recruitment…
We are all too aware of the direct costs of a ‘bad’ recruitment decision. After all, it is likely to be the biggest capital expense that you are delegated to authorise. Getting this wrong can severely affect your leadership brand, not to mention any ongoing indirect costs of the fallout. Can you or your organisation afford to get it wrong…again?

Recruiting and interviewing can seem like a simple process. Just follow the bouncing ball - one step after the other - and you’ll identify the best candidate for the job. The reality however, is quite different. Finding the right candidate for the job is actually about what happens between the steps. For example, do you know who and what you need but:
- Struggle to put it into words
- Unsure of the questions to ask
- Don't have the resources or the skills to recruit internally, or
- Don't have the funds to contract a high priced recruitment consultant?
The reasons why people leave in the first place…
There’s a saying, “Employees don’t quit their jobs, they quit their bosses”! On the flip side, there’s also a saying, “We hire them for their skill and then we fire them because of their behaviour!”. There is a lot of talk in the market place about recruiting for cultural fit, however there is not much chatter about how to specifically do this.
So…what about our culture?

With two recent national Australian Institute of Training & Development (AITD) awards from previous assignments, Andrea is able to not only meet immediate needs but also increase her clients’ internal HR capacity and sustainability.
Andrea holds an MBA from the University of Adelaide, is a SA Governor’s Leadership Foundation graduate (2010) and was a State Councillor of the Australian Human Resource Institute (SA) from 2009 – 2014.
