Understanding the role of a board member is fundamental to the good governance of any organisation and ultimately, its success. Our expert lawyers will talk through the top legal issues for board members, the essential elements of good governance and provide practical tips and resources around the board induction process.

Beyond fundraising – understanding emerging financing approaches for the sector (40 mins)


A short, sharp, plain English overview of emerging financing approaches for community organisations. This session will help your organisation to confidently engage in conversation on this issue, with a view to enhance its financial position and long-term sustainability and growth. The session will draw on a new suite of resources Not-for-profit Law is developing for community organisations.

  • Debt financing
  • Equity financing
  • Related resources

You will be provided with a detailed workbook covering what you have learnt, as well as useful resources and templates you can take back to your organisation.
