An Azure DevOps Server user CAL authorizes a user to access Azure DevOps Server (formerly Visual Studio Team Foundation Server) from any device. For example, an employee could access the server from a computer at work and another at home. This offer provides one user CAL. Device CALs are also available. The Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) subscription that is bundled with Visual Studio editions available through Connecting Up and TechSoup New Zealand provides one Azure DevOps Server CAL. Other users need an Azure DevOps Server user or device CAL to access Azure DevOps Server. The Dynamics 365 for Sales (On-Premises) device CAL authorizes a computer or other device to access the sales application in Dynamics 365 (On-Premises) Server, regardless of the number of users. Dynamics 365 (On-Premises) Server is the on-premises version of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and runs on Windows Server. The on-premises version of the Dynamics 365 for Sales application provides a limited subset of the customer relationship management (CRM) capabilities that are available in the cloud-based version. The rights to run Dynamics 365 (On-Premises) Server software and the Dynamics 365 for Sales (On-Premises) application are included with the CAL.
